# YOTRON API Versioning and Deprecation Policy

## Current version

The current public REST API is /api/v1. The version is part of the URL so an agent can pin an integration to a stable contract.

## Deprecation and Sunset

YOTRON gives at least six months advance notice before retiring a version. A deprecated endpoint returns the HTTP Deprecation: true header and a Sunset header with the retirement date, following RFC 8594. The Link: rel="deprecation" relation points to the change notice.

The active /api/v1 endpoints return Deprecation: false and a future Sunset date so clients can verify the policy during discovery.
